Hugh Aikin was born in 1893 to Robert and Mary Aikin (resident in Mosside, Manchester during the war). He was employed as an order clerk at Calico Printers Association, Portland Street, Manchester. As an evening student at The Tech he studied Dryed Goods (1909-10), Technology (1910-11) and Science (1911-12). Wounded on 7th April Hugh died the following day.
