Andrew was born in 1880 at Frodingham, Lincolnshire. His father was also called Andrew. He was educated at Manchester Grammer School and enter Manchester University in 1899 to study engineering. After his studies he worked for Derwent Valley Water Board and Belfast Water Board. He was gazetted in 1915 to the Royal Engineers and was killed in March 1918 at Morchies, near Baupaume, France. He left effects worth £49 3s 5d to Hannah Gertude Williamson.
