Thomas born in 1897 at Wigan, was the second son of Alderman James O’Donahue, a Justice of the Peace. He attended Wigan Grammar School. A member of the University Officer Training Corps from May 1916 to February 1917 he was gazetted on 28th March 1917. He died in April 1917 while serving with the Manchester Regiment in France. At the time of Thomas’ death his brother Jack, a Lieutenant, was in hospital in Malta.
